my Story

hi, nice to meet you!

Dallas native and now New York transfer Kate (as her friends call her) was told she resembled the ABBA lyric: “Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk. She says I began to sing long before I could talk.” As the oldest of three girls, she forced her sisters and schoolmates into backyard productions where she, of course, would star.

Kathryn received her BFA in Musical Theater from Sam Houston State University, emphasizing Acting and Directing. She then worked professionally for seven years, both locally in DFW and on a national tour. Some of those credits include: A Christmas Carol 2018 (Laundress)/Dallas Theater Center, The Music Man (Eulalie McKechnie Shinn/Ewart Dunlop)/Theatre Three, Ballad of Little Jo (Kate Monaghan)/WaterTower Theatre, She Loves Me (Ilona Ritter)/Runway Theater, Adding Machine: A Musical (Mrs. One)/Theatre Three.

Kate decided it was time to return to school and was invited to join a class of eight at Southern Methodist University to get her MFA in Acting. At SMU, she appeared as Titania in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Viola in Twelfth Night, and Old Shady in Men on Boats

Since moving to New York, Ms. Rose has made a splash in the Off-Off-Broadway scene, Playing Madelaine True in Lippa’s The Wild Party and most recently in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music as Desire Armfeldt.

Kate has voiced several anime characters, including G36 in Girls, Frontline, and Passionate Kiss in The Vampire Dies in No Time.

Kathryn is a bubbly, scrappy little self-producer of one-woman shows featuring comedy, storytelling, and music. She has premiered shows at Dallas’ Festival of Independent Theaters and West End Longue in New York City.
